It also has been spelled "Winkfield." Although his will had been executed 4 July 1872 -- some 26 years before his death -- it remained unchanged by Cosby. Named were his wife, Amanda, and children including the children of his previously deceased daughter, Ann Elizabeth D. Cosby Wilson. Named were Mary J. C. Brown; James W. E.; Lucy C.C. Boswell; Joel E.; Oliver Wl.; Charles D.; Zachary Taylor; Ann Amanda C. Dozen/Dozer, and Ryland T. D[illard]. In 1850, Winfield Cosby was 45, VA born; his wife was 41, and also from VA. Others in their chousehold included James W., 16; Ausley/Ausly D., 15; Edward, 12; Luch C., 14; John W., 9; Oliver, 8; Charles D., 6; Zachary Taylor, 4, and Ann Amanda, 1.
