W. Ranck], he was married twice: first to Polly Ellis (listed above) and second to Eliza Buckner. Of the eight children born of his first marriage only one has been noted bur. in the family cemetery. In November 1824, Shipp joined neighboring farmers to form a school for their children [Haley & Related Families: An Excerpt. Haley, Edward F.]. Shipp, his second wife, and his youngest son -- Thos. Jefferson Shipp -- were enumerated in the 1850 U.S. census. He was a 62 y/o farmer; his wife was 50, and his son was 22. His property was valued at $15,300.
