It is one of at least three Downing, Gibson, & Wymore family sites in this county. It currently is the only one known to the submitter of this information. Photographs are available (via internet "upload") on request of those from out of town. Last Name First Name Middle Name Birth Death Comment -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Downing E. M. Gibson 3/16/1816 5/12/1879 Downing Harriet N. 4/4/1877 Downing James G. Downing Marcus O. 3/10/1854 3/4/1898 Gibson Mary Ann 4/27/1818 1/20/1898 ? ? ? 5/22/1820 1/5/1850 Top of stone is missing Additional Comments: This site is enclosed by a well-maintained field stone fence. It is at the top of a hill, hidden from instant sight by trees surrounding it. Around the cemetery are well-maintained condominium units. Access into the enclosure is gained by a "stile" type series of three field stones laid into the fence stones perpendicular to the outside and the same to the inside. Few headstones remain intact, and the one most well preserved has remained erect by having been partially enclosed (read: framed) by a growing tree. It would appear others also are buried here. E.M. Gibson was the daughter of James and E. Gibson.
