VA Additional Comments: For a lineage of this family which was among the early settlers of KY, see William Tyler's will was written 11 June 1835 and admitted to Probate in March 1843. It named his wife, Letty; son Charles, as well as daughter Sally GORHAM; heirs of daughter Ann TOMPKINS; heirs of Susan FITZGERALD; Mary CARTER; Benjamin Tyler, Will Tyler, and George Tyler. Executors were son Benj. Tyler and Thomas STEPHENS. Wits. Richard J. SPURR; Richard SPURR; Barbara SPURR. Inventor and disbursement of estate valued at over $6000 waas filed in Jan. 1849; Bk S, p. 119. The family burying ground is specifically excepted from the land title, to wit: "...there is excepted out of this conveyance the grave yard within the above enclosure containing eight (8) poles, leaving the amount of land emplaced in this conveyance to wit: Four hundred and Eight (408) Acres and thirteen square poles."
