VIRGINIA GRANT: Lee, 1790, Fayette Date: 2/25/00 3:48:22 PM Submitted by: MartinaCarpenter@webbworks.com (Martina Carpenter) Virginia Grants Hancock Lee Fayette County, KY Book 11, Page 496-497 FHC #0272815 Beverley Randolph Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia To all to whom these presents shall come Greeting Know ye that by virtue & in Consideration of a Preemption Treasury Warrant No 960 Issued the 20th day day of June 1780, there is Granted by the said Commonwealth unto Hancock Lee, Heir at Law to Willis Lee a certain tract or parcel of land containing five hundred acres by Survey bearing date the 4th day of May 1789, lying and being in the County of Fayette on the waters of South Elkhorn and bounded as followeth, to wit. Beginning at a Sugar tree Hackberry and white Oak and Military Survey of Edmund Taylors, made for three thousand acres running thence South seventy degrees East four hundred and four poles crossing Steels Run to two Sugar trees and white oak thence North twenty degrees East two hundred and seventy seven and a half poles crossing a Branch to two ashes and a Sugar tree thence North seventy degrees West one hundred and fifty one poles to two while Elms and Cherry on said Lee's Settlement line thence with said line South twenty degrees West one hundred twenty six and a half poles to a Stake corner to said Settlement, thence North seventy degrees West two hundred and fifty three poles with a line of said Settlement to two small hickories and white thorn in Taylors line, thence with said line South twenty degrees West one hundred and fifty one poles to the Beginning with its Appurtenances.
