VIRGINIA GRANT: Lee, 1785, Fayette Date: 2/25/00 3:56:22 PM Submitted by: MartinaCarpenter@webbworks.com (Martina Carpenter) Virginia Grant Henry Lee Fayette County, KY Book 10, Pages 140 - 141 FHC #0272814 Patrick Henry Esquire Governor of the commonwealth of Virginia To all to whom these presents shall come greeting Know ye that by virtue & in consideration of a preemption treasury Warrant No 987 Issued the 29th day of June 1780 there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto Henry Lee a certain tract or parcel of land containing one thousand acres by survey bearing date the 4th day of April 1785 lying & being in the County of Fayette & Bounded as followeth to wit Beginning at a mulberry & two Blue Ash tree corner to the said Lees settlement running south thirty degrees East four hundred poles to an Elm honey Locust & Buckeye thence south sixty degrees West four hundred poles to two hickory saplings & a Buckeye thence north thirty degrees West four hundred poles to an Elm hickory & honey Locust corner to the said settlement & with Richard Lea thence north sixty degrees East four hundred poles with the line of the said settlement to the Beginning with its appurtenances to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of Land with its appurtenances to the said Henry Lee and his heirs for ever In Witness whereof the said Patrick Henry Esq Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia hath hereunto set his hand & caused the lesser seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond on the fifteenth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & eighty five and of the Commonwealth the eleventh.
