Selected Records of Revolutionary War Pension and Land Bounty Applications 1800-1900. Abraham Bowman born Oct. 16th, 1749 appointed LT. Col. of Col. Muhlenbergs 8th VA Regt. in the winter of 1776. Promoted to Col. in 1777. Served until after the battle of Monmouth. June 28th, 1778. Allowed pension Sept 7th 1829 while a resident of Fayette Co. Ky. Abraham Bowman died Nov. 9th, 1837. Abraham Bowman was married in the summer of 1782 in that part of Lincoln Co. later called Mercer Co. Ky. to Mrs. Sarah Bryan who was born Sept 8th, 1757. It was her second marriage. Sarah Bowman the widow of Abraham was allowed pension on his service March 9th, 1839 in Fayette Co. Ky. She died Dec. 8th, 1845. Abraham Bowman was survived by the following children.... Mary or Polly born Mar. 11, 1783 married John Keen. Abraham Junior born Feb. 27, 1785 John born Jan. 31 1787 William born Nov. 18th,1789 George H. born Sept. 21 1792 Sarah born July 8, 1796 married S. Woolfork. Elizabeth born August 16, 1798 married Joseph Bowman
