Linh Nguyen. Visitation is 1:30-2:30 p.m. Friday at Stith Funeral Home. He died Thursday at Bert Fish Medical Center in New Smyrna Beach, Fla. Born Oct. 10, 1939, in Lexington, he was the son of the late Frank H. and Maye Bertram Rippetoe. He was a former federal criminal investigator for the Office of Inspector General of the National Aeronautical and Space Administration, Washington, D.C., supervisory criminal investigator for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Internal Revenue Service, Washington, D.C., and criminal investigator for the Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Agency. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of American Legion Post 17 of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., and the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association, and a 1963 graduate of the University of Kentucky. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Shawn Goodlett of Houston, Texas; and a brother, Henry N. "Hank" Rippetoe of Tampa, Fla. He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Weissinger Rippetoe.
