WILL: Robinson, John, 1850 - Fayette County, Kentucky ------------------------------------------- Contributed by: H and J Clifford "jhcliff@edtnind1.telusplanet.net" January 23, 1999 ------------------------------------------- Fayette County, Kentucky Will Book T, pages 69, 70 Will of John Robinson, Written 11 June 1850, Probated 14 October 1850 In the name of God Amen I John Robinson of the County of Fayette and state of Kentucky being of sound and disposing mind do make and ordain this to be my last Will and testament hereby revoking all others made by me. 1st I desire that all my Just debts to be first paid. 2nd I have given to my daughter Mary Ann Garnett a negro Girl named Harriet whom I value at three hundred dollars and to my daughter Elizabeth Bryant a Girl named Dinah whom I value at two hundred & fifty dollars which I wish them to have and at my decease they are to be allow[ed] the same for them as a portion of their Legacy out of my Estate. 3rd I give my daughter Mildred a negro Girl named Jane whom I value at four hundred dollars and to my daughter Sarah Catherine I give another named Agness which I value at two hundred & fifty dollars which I wish them to have as a portion of their Legacy coming out of my Estate. 4th Inasmuch as I have not given to my other children (to Wit) William Joseph Thomas Boswell & Elijah any servants I will that at my decease they shall have one negro each to valued to them Viz William Rodes & Robt Marshall provided those children shall desire to have them and they are to be paid of their legacy coming out of my Estate. 5th I also will that my Grand childen Sally Money and John Williams Son and Daughter of my deceased Daughter Nancy Williams have Five hundred dollars each out of my estate but as John Williams is subject to spasms I wish my son Joseph to keep his part to be given to him as he thinks best but if he shall recover and get well then I wish Joseph to give him his portion. I also wish in case sd John does not get well that at his death the five hundred dollars or what may be left shall come back to my estate. 6th I wish that my Executors shall give to my single Daughters Mildred & Catherine One hundred dollars each as a Compensation for their labor and care in waiting on their Deceased Mother & myself provided that those daughters shall be single at my decease. 7th I also will that my Children sell my farm among themselves if they can make it suit them but if not that- then my Executors shall sell it at public sale and that they shall reserve twelve yards square including the grave of my wife and some others near hers to be resrved as a buring ground for my family. 8th As to the residue of my Estate I wish it sold and divided equally among my children as named above[.] the old negro woman named Daughney belonging to me I do not wish sold and do not wish to free her I therefore give her to my Daughter Milly if she is willing to live with her if not she may live with any of my children she may prefer. 9th As children are often dissatisfied with their parents Wills and believing that I have made a just and equal will among my childen and Grand Children I now Will that if any of my children grandchildren or sons in law- or any interested in this my Will shall attempt to break or set aside this Will they shall have but five dollars of my estate for so doing and it is to be for their full legacy out of my Estate. 10th I do hereby appoint Joseph & Elijah Robinson my Executors of this my Will.
