He enlisted in Delaware and in 1778 he moved to Pennsylvania and also enlisted there. He applied for a pension on 3 Sep 1832 in Fleming County, Kentucky having moved there in 1792 from Washington County, Pennsylvania. On page 286 of Book G of the Fleming County Court records it is stated that David Hopkins, pensioner of the U.S., died 28 Mar 1843 leaving two sons (Benjamin & James), but no widow.
