Obituary Fleming Gazette, November 13,1947
Funeral services for Pvt. Gilbert Oval Jones, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mason Jones, 
of Pecks Ridge, and one of the first was dead from this county whose body has 
been returned from overseas was held yesterday afternoon.
   The services were held from the Battle Run church with Rev. Howard C. 
Edwards, pastor of the Elizaville Christian church, in charge. Burial with 
military honors was held in the Elizaville cemetery with members of the W. N. 
Fant post No.5, officiating.
  Pvt Jones was listed as missing in action November 21, 1944 in the Battle of 
the Bulge. His body reached New York late last month.

(Note the name of his son Mason Thomas Jones was ommitted from this obituary, 
His mane came from the divorce papers of the Fleming County Court.)
