Funeral Services Held Tuesday Nov. 30, 1982 For Gertie Henderson Mrs. Gertie Bell Henderson, 84, of Weston, died at her home Saturday. She had been in failing health in recent months and when neighbors did not see her living room light go on in the early evening, they notified relatives who found her. Mrs. Henderson was born in Fleming County, Ky., on November 1, 1898, the daughter of Garfield and Mary Frances Todd Perkins. She came to Missouri in 1940 with her husband Roy Henderson whom she wed on December 24, 1917. They were farm people, and Mrs. Henderson helped her husband while raising a family and assisting neighbors in anyway she could. She was also a devoted member of the Weston Christian Assembly Church. Mrs. Henderson had a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, on whom she kept close tabs. She loved to host family dinners and to cook for the children. She was a truly devoted family person who took pride in their accomplishments and pleasure in her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died in 1977. She is survived by one son, Larry Henderson, Weston; three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Moore and Mrs. Rosa Faudere of Weston, and Mrs. Roberta Warner Taloff of Archie, Mo.; 29 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at the Weston Christian Assembly with Rev. W. R. Franklin officiating, Mrs. Maurice Schindler was at the organ and Susan and David Hintz sang favored hymns. Pallbearers for burial in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery were Lee Smith, Jimmy Large, Allen Curtis, Roy F. Henderson, Laurence Comer, and Lloyd Burrow.
