He had been ill for several days previous to attack but was thought to have been showing improvement at the time of his death. Known to his friends as "Buddy",he was one of the substantial citizens of the Locust neighborhood and was well liked by everyone with whom he came in contact. He was a member of the M.E. church having affiliated with that congregation in early manhood. Mr. Todd was born and reared within a short distance of the home where he died and had spent his life in the community. He was the son of Robert and Mary Saunders Todd, pioneer residents of Fleming county, his paternal grandfather having come to Fleming county from Ireland. He is survived by his wife, Rushia Porter Todd, and two daughters, Ruth Todd, who lived at home and Mary Todd of Portsmouth, O. Two sisters, Mrs. Alberta Graham of Locust and Mrs. Mary Jane Harmon of Pecks Ridge, also survive. Funeral services were conducted from the Locust Methodist church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock by Rev. S. J. Bradley. Interment made in the Flemingsburg cemetery.
