Commercial entities must ask for and receive permission from submitter before downloading. ======================================================================== Submitted by: Charlotte Doyle Smith Date: Thu, 22 May 1997 Will of Edward Callahan Will Book N page 10 (1871) In the name of God Amen I Edward Callahan of the County of Fleming and Commonwealth of Kentucky do make and publish this my last will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say 1st My will and desire is that after my decease all my just debts together with my funeral expenses to be punctually and speedily paid 2nd I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Elizabeth Callahan the sum of seven hundred dollars in money which is to be considered in full of her Dower in my estate the money to be paid to her out of the first collected from the sale of my estate after paying my debts & funeral expenses as above and I further give unto her one horse beast of her own choosing together with saddle & briddle and all the household & kitchen furniture she brought with her when we were Married and further I give unto her any intrest I may have in the estate of my brother Samuel Callahan Dec'd and also the best bed and bedding which is be of her own choosing. 3rd After my decease my will is that my land and personal property be sold and the proceeds after paying my debts and funeral expenses be equally divided between by Daughters Cynthia Ann Prater & Amanda Yanner and the heirs of my son John P Callahan Dec'd and the children of my Dec'd daughter Ann Findleys Share and Share alike 4th And lastly I nominate and appoint my friend Moses Kirk Executor of this my last will and Testament hereby revoking all other and former wills by me heretofore made. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 5th day of February 1866 Edward Callahan Signed in presence of us G.T. Paxton who have hereunto subscribed Wm F. Carpenter our names as witnesses At a Court held for Fleming County on the 24th day of July 1871 An instrument of writing purporting to be the last will and Testament of Edward Callahan dec was produced in open Court and proven by the oaths of G.T.
