Bowman May 30 1917 The following obits were glued inside the back cover of the bible (no source or dates given): Charlotta Temple May was born in Prestondurg, Floyd County, Kentucky October 22, 1825. Married William D. Giles March 7 1847, who died 12 years ago. They came to Viroqua in 1854, and have lived here during all these years. Six of the eight children born them are living Mrs. Mary Heavrin and Mrs. Thomas Bowman of Appollonia; Mrs Minnie Bedell of Chippewa Falls; John D. Giles of Eau Claire, Mrs. A.S. Cobb and Mrs. Louis Silbaugh of Viroqua They were all present at the funeral service at the home of Mr. And Mrs. Cobb. William Giles died at his home in Keeokuk Falls, Oklahoma Territory on January 30 of bronchitis after an illness of five weeks. His wife, who was a daughter of Uncle John Groves, died about two years ago. He leaves three children all grown up and living in Oklahoma.
