Floyd County native who died in Ypsilanti, Mi.

Ball, Richard D. III, Ypsilanti, MI Richard Ball, 55, passed away 
Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. He was 
born on July 23, 1948 in Prestonsburg, KY, the son of Richard D. and 
Lorrainne (Messer) Ball Jr. He was a 1966 graduate of Willow Run High 
School and attended Northern Michigan University before enlisting in 
the U.S. Army, where he was a helicopter pilot. He retired from 
Continental Airlines after 17 years as a captain. Survivors include 
his parents of Ypsilanti; a brother, Michael (Sharon) Ball of Ypsilanti; 
two nieces, Melissa and Cynthia Ball; uncle, Print Ball; and several 
other relatives. Funeral service will be held Monday, November 17 from 
Carter Funeral Home in Prestonsburg, KY. Burial will be in the Mayo 
Cemetery in Prestonsburg. Arrangements: Stark Funeral Service Moore 
Memorial Chapel.
