ROBERT CHURCH, a native of Franklin County, was born September 7, 1824, and is a son of James and Mary (Moss) Church, natives of Franklin County and Virginia. Mrs. Mary Church came to Kentucky with her father, Francis Moss, who lived and died in Franklin County. Robert Church, the grandfather, was probably born in Franklin County. James Church died August 17, 1859, in the sixty-sixth year of his age. Robert Church was reared on a farm , and received a common- school education. He has always been engaged in farming, with the exception of ten years at Peach Mill, ten miles north of Frankfort from 1848 to 1858. He was married January 24, 1854, to Miss Mary E. McMillan, a native of Harrison County, Ky., and a daughter of James McMillan, of Scotch-Irish extraction. Six children are the results of this union: Llewellyn, merchant at Peach Mill, born March 12, 1855; Edgar E., physician at Abilene, Tex., born August 7, 1857; Maggie, Mattie, Nora and Anna. Mr. Church owns 350 acres, and is a member of the Christian Church, Frankfort, Ky.
