Fields today set Friday, May 28, 1926, as the day of execution for the following five men, all convicted of murder, their sentences being affirmed by the court of appeals. George Bolin, Breathitt county, convicted in the Breathitt circuit court for murder, July 31, 1923. His sentence was affirmed by the court of appeals Jan 16, 1925. Ed Lake, Jefferson county, convicted in Jefferson circuit court, November, 1923; sentence affirmed by court of appeals June 19, 1925. John Baker, Jefferson county, convicted in Jefferson circuit court January 17, 1925. His sentence was affirmed by the court of appeals October 13, 1925. Elisha Sloan, Perry county, convicted in Perry circuit court, Feb. 26, 1925. His sentence was affirmed by the court of appeals Nov. 20, 1925. Elmer Owens, alias Melvin Owens, Fayette county, convicted in Fayette circuit court March 2, 1925. Sentence affirmed by court of appeals Nov 10, 1925.
