Stone #1 - This is the stone of Julia M. Dillon, which says that she died 28 February 1873 at the age of 65. This stone is broken in two parts, but when placed side by side, it is very readable. Stone #2 - This stone is also broken and only parts of it are still there. Some text is on it, but only the age of the person when they died can be read. It states that they died at 68 years of age. It is belived that this stone belongs to John Stewart Dillon, husband of Julia M. Dillon and the man who owned the quarter section of land that the headstones were found on. The Dillon family can be found in the 1850 census for Fulton County, Kentucky with the exception of Stewart Dillon, the father. The settlement of his estate was recorded during the first session of the Fulton County Court in 1850, thus suggesting that he died in late 1849. If you say that he died in 1849, that would make it that he was born in 1781, which is consistant with the birthdates of his siblings. John Stewart Dillon married Julia Martha Scofield in Jessamine County, Kentucky on 20 Sept.1826. They moved to Fulton County in the 1830's.
