1953 in Fulton from Fulton Daily Leader by Eunice Mitchell February The City of Fulton voted to incorporate State Line Street to clear up confusion concerning the area. Junior Woman's Club started a project to have the city adopt an insecticide spraying program. South Fulton learned that it was to receive $12,000 yearly for street fund allocation from the state. Boaz-Hester Grocery, one of Fulton's oldest busnesses, was sold. Rev. John Laida, moved to Fulton to assume the pastorate of the First Baptist Church. Three month old Susan Mina Grissom died in an automobile accident in which four members of her family were, hert. Other deaths in the month included: P. C. Ford, prominent local hotel owner; B. O. Copeland, retired rural mail carrier; G. C. Richardson, county soil conservationist and Mary jo Moss, 3rd polio victim since the previous August.
