Three weeks later plans for rebuilding were in the hands of the architect. The Lions Club sponsored its first annual Junior Dairy Cattle Show, with Benny Sams having the Grand Champion of the show. Paducah won the Kitty League playoff from Fulton; Lookouts manager Sam Lamitina was given his release by the Fulton Baseball Association, at his request. Five were injured in Labor Day traffic accidents. Construction began on Fulton gas line. George Burnette won grand champion honors in the 4H Jersey cattle show at the Kentucky State Fair. Fulton County was designated as a drought area; farmers over the county suffered heavy damage due to drought conditions. The first step toward a new city park was assured with the announcement that funds have been raised for a new fence to be built around Fairfield, home of the Lookouts. Leon Browder, son of one of the founders of Browder's Mill and one of Fulton's most prominent citizens, died suddenly.
