The Fulton News - June 24, 1965 *************************** Deaths ****** Astor McGee, 73, retired Illinois Central Railroad conductor, died at 2:15 a.m. Sunday at McAlister Rest Home in Fulton, following a long illness. Mr. McGee, a native of Gleason, Tenn., served six years in the armed forces before World War I. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen and the Elks Lodge. He belonged to First Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Zada B. Fleming McGee; Three daughters, Mrs. Juanita Dixon of Carrollton, Ga., Mrs. Maxine Johnson of Atlanta and Mrs. Micca Ann Schall of Port Washington, N. Y.; a son, Thomas Aster McGee of Detroit; siz grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral service were held Tuesday at Whitnel Funeral Home, the Rev. Gerald Stow, officiating. Burial was in Tansil Cemetery near Sharon, Tenn.
