Bobby Childers, 73 HICKMAN, Ky.- died 1 Aug. 2004

  Services for Robert "Bobby" Childers, 73, of Hickman 
will be at 2 p.m. today at Strong Funeral Home, with 
the Revs. Ben Stratton and Bill Amberg officiating. 
Burial will be in Hickman City Cemetery. 

  Mr. Childers died at 12:10 p.m. Sunday at Centennial 
Hospital in Nashville, Tenn. He was a retired teacher 
and principal in the Fulton County School System and 
retired from the U.S. Postal Service. Mr. Childers 
served as the Hickman city manager from 1995-96 and 
was a member of First Church of God.
 
  Surviving are his wife, Jeanette Roper Childers; two 
daughters, Carla McClure of Hickman and Cynthia Dawson 
of Bowling Green; two sisters, Aleita Williams of 
Cleveland, Tenn., and Sonja Waites of The Villages, 
Fla.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. 

  Mr. Childers was preceded in death by one son, Robert 
"Rick" Childers Jr.; one brother and one sister. His 
parents were James Oscar and Lorene Childers. Friends 
may call after 9 a.m. today at the funeral home.
