The Fulton News - September 17, 1959 ******************************** Clarence Walter Francis, 74, resident of Fulton for the past year and a half, Died Friday morning at 5:30 a.m. at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William S. Stokes, Court Drive, following a long illness. He was born Dec. 16, 1884 in Springfield, Illinois, the son of late Victor and Rose DeFrates Francis. For many years he was associated with Ray's Brand Products Company in Springfield. Mr. and Mrs. Francis moved to Fulton about 18 months ago, and have been making their home with their daughter for the past few months. He was a member of the Third Presbyterian Church of Springfield. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Beulah M. Francis; a daughter, Mrs. William B. Stokes of Fulton; two grandchildren, Linda and David Stokes; a cousin, Mrs. Zoe Plunkett of Springfield. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Whitnel Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Charles Roe, pastor of the First Christian Church officiating. Interment was in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
