MRS. E. A. KIESER Mrs. Eliza A. Kieser, formerly of this place and widow of the late Frederick Kieser, died at Rogers, Ark., Aug. 30th, 1910, at 6:30 am, while on a visit to her son, James Kieser, and was buried at Mount Zion, Sept. 2. Mrs. Kieser was born Nov. 21, 1841, at Memphis, Tenn., and in 1859 was married to L, W, Hannah at Memphis. To this union was born one daughter, now Mrs. D. A. Luten, of Union City. Mr. Hannah died in 1866, and on Jan.29, 1868, she was married to Frederick W. Kieser, to whom were born six children, four of whom are still living: J. F. Kieser, of Rogers, Ark.; Virginia (Mrs. G. L. Eminiser), of Greenville, Miss.; Irene (Mrs. W. A. Swift) of Texarkana, Ark.; Miss Ivy Maude, who lived with her at home in Little Rock. Two of her children, John P. Kieser and Annie (Mrs. H. T. Emerson) having preceded her. She also reared four step-children: Mr. Will Kieser (deceased); Mrs. Bush; Mrs. Williams (deceased), and Miss Mary Kieser, who lived with her and was at her bedside when she died. Mr. and Mrs. Kieser lived in Hickman for a while and then they lived at their beautiful home near Jordan, and it was here that we first knew her, perhaps thirty years ago. We found in her a woman of great depth of character - strong christianity - that had begun back in her early days at Memphis, where ahe attended Sunday School at First Methodist Church and where ahe became a member when quite young. She was a member Mount Zion church for 22 years and was one of our most active and influential members. She loved the Sunday School work, and the writer was a member of her class. Mrs. Kieser's house was always open to everyone, and the many pleasant evenings spent there with this happy family will linger with us through the coming years. After leaving here they moved to Union City, where Mr. Kieser died in June 1900. Afterwards, they moved to Little Rock, Ark., where she was living at the time of her death. She had untied with the church at that place and was a member of the Sunday School. Mr, J. F. Kieser, Mrs. Eminiser, Misses Mary and Ivy Maude Kieser accompanied her remains here for burial. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. W. C. Sellars at the residence of Mrs. D. A. Luten, assited with a few selections in music, after which the services were conducted at Mount Zion Church.
