The Fulton News - September 17, 1959 ************************************ Emmett Reese, 60, prominent farmer of the Pierce community died suddenly Wednesday night, September 9, 1959 at his home. He apparently died in his sleep. He was born November 24, 1899 at Pierce Station in Obion Co., Tennessee, the son of the late Jack and Margaret Hays Reese. He has been engaged in farming all of his life and was a member of the Johnson Grove Baptist Church. He was married to Miss Rivie Kaler, who survives. Other survivors include two children, Robert Reese of Fulton and Mrs. Annie Bell Clark of Carmichael, Calif., a brother, J. C. Reese, Route 2, Fulton; two sisters, Mrs. Allie Ross, Martin, Route 3, Mrs. Florence Crocker of Greenfield and five grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Johnson Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Moore of Mayfield, and Rev. Warren Jones, pastor, officiating. Burial by Hornbeak Funerl Home was in the church cemetery.
