Fulton Daily Leader "Passed to his reward" Egbert Wesley Stevenson born March 3, 1856; died April 8, 1922, at his home in Greenfield, Tenn. Mr. Stevenson came to Fulton from West Tennessee about 45 years ago, and lived here until 1920, when he moved to Texas, remaining there until last June, when he came to Greenfield where he died. He was twice married, first to Miss Mary Temperance Barnes. Four children were born to this union, two sons and two daughters. The daughters preceded him to the grave. The sons, W. A. Stevenson of this city and Wilbur Stevenson of Pittsburgh, Pa., yet survive. His second wife was Miss Lula McNeilley. To this union were born two daughters, Martha and Archie, who with their mother live to weep for the loss of a devoted husband and father. The deceased was a devoted member of the Primitive Baptist Church and was faithful to the doctrine of the same, and he will be missed in the meetings of his church and in the community in which he lived, while the loss to his family cannot be expressed, but in their deep grief it is sweet to have the hope of meeting him where parting is unknown, and there is no more sickness and death. Besides his family, Mr. Stevenson is survived by many friends in Fulton and elsewhere who will be grieved to learn of his death. The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the home of his W. A. Stevenson, in Pearl Village, conducted by his pastor, Bro. Ross of Greenfield, and he was laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery. The LEAFER joins with many friends in sympathy for the bereaved.
