George Curtis ěBillî Barnett, a resident of Hickman, died on Nov. 13 at Union City Manor 
Nursing Home. He was 71. 

Services were on Nov. 16 at Strong Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. Henry Callison 
and Brent Lee officiating. Burial was in Hickman City Cemetery. 

Survivors include his wife, Mary Jo Barnett, and a son, John Barnett of Hickman. 

Preceding him in death were his parents, James and Lillie Barnett; a son, Joel Barnett; and 
a brother, Hoyt Barnett. 

A retired Commonwealth Insurance agent for 35 years, he was a part-time farmer and a 
former Fulton County magistrate. He was currently serving as a Hickman City 
Commissioner. He was a member of Hickmanís West Baptist Church.
