Fulton Leader - February 11, 2004 ********************************* Howard Lee Usery, a resident of Fulton, formerly of Greenfield, died on Jan. 23 at Baptist Hospital in Union City. He was 79. Services were held on Jan. 25 at Williams Funeral Home in Union City, with Jimmy S. Usery officiating. Burial was in Brooks Cemetery in Greenfield. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Gattis Usery of Pilot Oak; two sons, James S. Usery of Collierville, Tenn. and Jerry Usery of Roswell, Ga.; a daughter, Jane Ann Usery Davis of Jackson, Tenn.; a brother, E. J. Usert of Cleveland, Tenn.; six grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Alma L. Emmerison Usery, three brothers and his first wife. Born Feb. 3, 1924, in Steele, Mo., he was self-employed in the trucking business. He owned and operated Martin Truck Center for 30 years. He wasin the Army, serving in World War II.
