Katie Matson - died 4 June 2004

  Katie Matson, 96, of Hickman, Ky., died June 4, 
2004, at Obion County Nursing Home. Services were 
2 p.m. Sunday at Strong Funeral Home in Hickman, 
with the Rev. Henry Callison officiating. Burial 
followed in Barlow (Ky.) City Cemetery. 

  Pallbearers were Larry Johnson, Freddie Graves, 
Dickie Roberts, Rob Morrow, Steve Holder and Travis 
Holder. 

  She was born Dec. 23, 1907, in Barlow, daughter 
of the late Hardy and Bessie Hopper. She was the 
widow of Harry Matson and was a retired teacher in 
the Fulton County (Ky.) School System. She was a 
member of Hickman First Baptist Church. 

  She was also preceded in death by two brothers, 
Tom Hardy Hooper and Joe Hooper; and her sister, 
Cleatie (Hooper) McPherson.


Note from Jackie:  Katie Matson was one of my 5th 
grade school teachers.  Also, knew her very well 
from church.
