 Lube B. Blackard of Latham, Tennessee, died at his 
home at 11:30 a.m. Saturday after a long illness. He 
was born in Weakley County, Tennessee, September 22, 
875. He was the son of William Harvey and Mary Biggers 
Blackard.

 Besides his wife, Mrs. Belle Blackard he leaves his 
sons Carlos and Etheridge (Fat) Blackard of Detroit, 
one daughter Ulysses Dortch of Latham, four grandchildren 
and one great-grandchild.

 He was a member of the Bible Union Church of Christ 
where the funeral was held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday with 
Brother Garvin Brundige officiating. Burial was at 
Oak Grove Cemetery with Jackson Brothers Funeral Home 
of Dukedom in charge of arrangements.
