Fulton Leader - 29 Aug. 1991 Lavinia Thompson ************************ Lavinia Thompson, a resident of 112 West St., Fulton, died Aug. 25 at Haws Memeorial Nursing Home in Fulton. She was 87. Memorial services were Tuesday at Palestine United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Mosley officiating and burial in Palestine Cemetery. Hornbeak Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. The family requests memorials to a United Methodist Church. She is survived by one sister, Frances T. Cardwell, Fulton; six nephews, Shelby C. Davis, Madisonville; Frank Cardwell, Fort Worth , Texas; Richard Lewis Cardwell, Fulton; Patrick T. Lee, Colan L. Lee and Donald A. Lee, all of Bremerton, Wash.; two great nieces, two great nephews, one great great nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom A. and Ida Browder Thompson, one brother, Lewis B. Thompson and two sisters, Mary Nelle Davis and Marjorie T. Lee and one niece, Betty Ann Davis Hoffman. She was born July 15, 1904, in Fulton County and had lived the past 16 years in Fulton. She was retired laboratory technician at Missouri Baptist Hospital. During WW II, she served at Camp Walter's Army Hospital in Texas under Dr. George Ives. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
