   Marion Neely of near Dukedom died at the home of his son, 
Harvey Neely at 4:45 a.m. Tuesday after a long illness. He 
was 85.

   Mr. Neely  a prominent farmer was born in Williamson County, 
Tenn., December 13, 1873, the son of Elijah and Nancy Warren Neely.

   He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nora Newton Neely; one son, 
Harvey Neely of Dukedom, Route 2; teo brothers, Boss Neely of 
Fulton and Ephraim Neely of Dukedom; Two grandchildren, Ralph 
Neely of Chicago and Mrs. Verdell Glisson of Union City; five 
great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

   He was the oldest member of the Dukedom Methodist Church where 
the funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. 
Joe F. McMinn of Crutcgfield officiating assisted by Rev. Norman 
Crittendon, pastor of the church. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery 
with Jackson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
