ROSSIE ESTELLE "RAMBO" EDWARDS (01 April 1900-10 May 1983) Transcribed from The Union City Daily Messenger May 1983 Mrs. Rossie Edwards Mrs. Rossie Edwards of Hickman, Ky., 83, known to her friends as Mrs. "Humpy" Edwards died Tuesday afternoon at Union City Baptist Hospital. Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Chaney Funeral Home in Hickman with the Rev. Ronnie Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow in Hickman City Cemetery. The former owner and operator of Humpy's Pig Stand, a cafeteria in Hickman until 1960, two years after the death of her husband, R.A. Edwards Sr. (Note- this is an error, should have been A.R. Edwards), was born April 1, 1900. She was the daughter of the late Sam Rambo and Mrs. Lillie Jones Rambo. She was a member of West Hickman Baptist Church. She is survived by one son, R.A. Edwards of Hickman, and two daughters, Mrs. Betty Anderson and Mrs. Bethel Choate, also of Hickman; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; five brothers, Tobe Rambo and Bill Rambo of Union City, John Rambo of Glass, Tenn., David Rambo and Roy Rambo of Nashville and three sister, Mrs. Jennie Jones of Nashville, Mrs. Nancy King of Royal Oak, Mich., and Mrs. Bulu McDonald of Union City. The family requested that memorials be in the form of donations to West Hickman Baptist Church. Pallbearers: Phil Choate, Al Choate, Charles Simmons, Dan Simmons, Chip Simmons and Dale Edwards.
