WHITESELL OBITUARY Newspaper clipping - no date line After an illness of about ____ weeks, Mrs. S. A. E. Whitesell died early Sunday morning, August 25, 1918 at 1:30 o'clock at the home of her daughter Mrs. A. J. Harpole of this city, Death resulting from decline and complications. Miss Sara Ann Elizabeth Wright was born in LaVerne, Davidson County, Tenn., April 29, 1838. She was the daughter of Robt. T. Wright. When about six years of age she moved with her parents to Fulton County, to the county where she spent the remainder of her life and where her family name became so well known and esteemed. Miss Wright was united in marriage to Mr. Jesse Whitesell in 1859 and there were four children. Two of these died in infancy. Mr. Whitesell died in 1892 and the survivors are Mr. Robert P. Whitesell and Mrs. A. J. Harpole of this city. Mrs. Whitesell is also survived by a brother, Rev. Thomas W. Wright, of Springtown, Texas. Mrs. Whitesell was a member of the Baptist Church. She joined at Liberty and remained a faithful and honored member for the rest of her life. The old homestead of the Whitesells near Fulton is one of the landmarks of that fine county. A prayer service was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Harpole Tuesdey morning at 10 o'clock, conducted by Rev. H. A. Todd and the remains were conveyed to Palestine, where service was continued by Revs. Todd and J. H. Wright. The remains were interred at Palestine Cemetery, in the vicinity of the Whitesell home. Following were pall bearers: J. E. Fields, T. N. Fields, C. G. Fields, Tobe Wright, Charles Wright, Weldon King, Sewel Wright and John Wright.
