Hickman Courier Services Held for Mrs. Sallie Thomas Watson ******************************************* Mrs. Sallie Thomas Watson, 668, died at her home in Hickman Thursday at 1 p.m. following a few days illness of influenza. Funeral services were conducted Saturday morning at David's Chapel Church, Brownsville where she was a member from childhood. The Rev. Bobby Goodman officiated and burial followed at Brownsville Cemetery. Barrett's Funeral Home was in charge. Mrs. Watson was born March 16, 1887 and grew up around Hickman. She was the daughter of John and Lucy Williams and was married to Sam Watson and to this union two children were born, a son, Earl and a daughter, Opal. She was well known and loved in the Brownsville community and Hickman. Pall bearers were Ernest Morris, R. D. Downing, Ernest Cagle, Sam Jones, Willie Andrews, Willie Thomas. Her only survivors are the following nieces and nephews: Mrs. Lottie Standfield of Hickman; Cecil Lankford, Linell Lankford, Opal Lamb all of Michigan; Ruby James, Bonner Williams, Prather Williams all of Brownsville. *********************************** Brownsville Cemetery Sallie Watson 1887 - 1956 *********************************** Obit furnished by Jackie Weigandt
