Fulton Daily Leader - 15 January 2004 Wendell Hagler Coffman, a resident of the Fulton area, died on Jan. 7 at Parkway Regional Hospital in Fulton. He was 81. Services were on Jan. 10 at Hornbeak Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. James Lawson and Eddie Hicks officiating. Burial was in Obion County Memorial Gardens. Survivors include his wife, Stella Yates Coffman; one son, Ronald Mac Coffman of South Fulton; one sister, Margaret Perry of South Fulton; one stepson, Ken Wilson of Clinton; one stepdaughter, Kay Wiley of Clinton; and eight grandchildren and four great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elwyn Mauriece Sr. and Hyacinth Hagler Coffman; his first wife, Carolyn Callicott Coffman; one brother, Elwyn Mauriece Coffman Jr.; and one granddaughter. Born in Weakley County on Oct. 23, 1922, he was a retired farmer and clerk for the Illinois Central Railroad. He was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church in South Fulton and the churchís menís fellowship group. He was also a member of the Illinois Central Railroad Hunting and Fishing Club.
