Willene Underwood
   Willene Underwood, formerly of Fulton, a resident of Van 
Ayer Manor, Martin, for the past nine years, died (1998)at 
Van Ayer Sunday. She was 85.
   Services were Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Hornbeak Funeral 
Chapel with the Rev.James Lawson officiating and burial in 
Pleasant View Memorial Gardens.
   She is survived by a son, Jerrell Underwood, Garfield; 
a brother, Russell McMorries, Martin; a sister, Rachael 
Stephens, St.Cloud, Fla.; six grandchildren , 19 great 
grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 
Edgar and Adelia Hicks McMorries, a granddaughter, four 
sisters and five brothers.
   A native of Hickman County, she was born June 1, 1912. 
She was a retired Counselur for Boys Town in Memphis and 
a member of Fulton Cumberland Presbyterian Church
