The following information was abstracted from Fulton County records by Cathy Moulton. Abstract of Leet Property located in Fulton County, Kentucky [This abstract consists of 57 pages. I will abstract according to the page numbers, and all comments will be enclosed in brackets "[ ]" ========================================================= #1 - CAPTION "A certain tract or parcel of land situated in Fulton County, State of Kentucky, and located about three miles east of the City of Hickman, and the major part thereof is on the north side of State Highway No. 94, and a small portion thereof is on the south side of said Highway, and is described in one tract as follows: Being a portion of the south-west quarter of section 8, Township 1 north, Range 4 west, and described as follows, to-wit : Beginning at a stake at the north-west corner of said south-west quarter, same being the north-west corner of this tract, thence south 84 degrees east, with quarter section line, 2919 feet to a stake at the north-east corner of said quarter section; thence south no degree 30 minutes east, with quarter section line, 1903 feet to a stake in the north line of State Highway No. 94 right of way; thence with the north line of said right of way, south 74 degrees west 700 feet; south 80 degrees 30 minutes west 800 feet, south 89 degrees west 700 feet to a stake in the north line of said right of way; thence south 1 degree west 60 feet to a stake in the south line of said Highway right of way; thence south 1 degree west 105 feet to a stake in the center of the old state road; thence north 89 degrees west, with center of said road, 762 feet to a stake in section line; thence north no degrees 30 minutes west, with section line, 171 feet to a stake in the south line of said Highway right of way, continuing on 60 feet accross [sic] said Highway to a stake in north line of said right of way; thence north no dgree [sic] 30 minutes west, with the section line, 2474 feet to the beginning; containing 152.03 acres on the north side of said Highway, and 2.42 acres on south side of said Highway, making a total of 154.45 acres in the tract, according to survey made by A. K. McMurry on December 16th 1936. The title to the above described tract of land was conveyed to Coley Bradley, and wife, Nancy Bradley, by deed of Mrs. Ella Leet, a widow, and Miss. Mamie L. Leet and Mrs. Louella Leet Hart, and her husband, J. Quarter of Sec. 8, Twp 1, Range 4 West, 160 acres The same land patented on Jan. 13th 1829 to the said Cates & Walker. ========================================================= p. 4 & 5 Will Book "B" p. 508 Will of Jeptha Leet, Sr. [in full] ========================================================= p. 6 Affidavit State of Kentucky County of Fulton The undersigned affiant states that he is a resident of the City of Hickman, Fulton County, Kentucky and has lived here for many years; he states that he has recently visited the Leet private grave yard and in said grave yard he found tomb stones erected at the certain graves as follows: A tomb stone at a grave had cut thereon the following: Jeptha Leet, died November 15th, 1844 and on the same stone was also this inscription, Sarah Leet, wife of Jeptha Leet, died May 4th, 1847; on another tombstone I found this inscription, Robert Emmett Leet died July 4th, 1866; and on another tomb-stone there was this inscription, Samuel R. Irvine died March 25th 1870 and on another tomb stone there was this inscription, Dena E. Expires 11/29/37 ========================================================= p. 7 Affidavit State of Kentucky County of Fulton The affiant, Oris Leet, states that he is a resident of Fulton County, Kentucky and resides on a farm East of Hickman; he says that he is a grandson of Robert Emmett Leet, deceased, and Mrs. Lucy E. Leet, now deceased; he states that after the death of Robert Emmett Leet that his wife, Lucy E. Leet married Sam R. Irvine and he states that the said Lucy E. Leet Irvine is now dead and that she died many years ago. Oris Leet Subscribed and sworn to me by Oris Leet this the 5 day of July 1837 W J McMurry My comm. Expires June 20th 1939 State of Kentucky County of Fulton Affiant, Oris Leet, states that the South-west Quarter of Section 8, Township 1, Range 4 west, a part of which is described in the caption of this abstract, is known in the Leet family as the Quarter Section on which Jeptha Leet lived at the time of his death; there is a family grave-yard located on this quarter section of land, and in it is the grave of Jeptha Leet, and his wife, Sarah Leet, also several graves of other members of the Leet families. Leet, and she further states that she is the same person as Emma Leet mentioned at page 10 of this abstract; she states that she and her husband, W. C. Ballow, were grantors in a deed to A. H. Leet dated Feb. 15th, 1897 and recorded in Deed Book 19 at page 103, shown at page 16 of this abstract and she states that she is a sister of the grantee, A. H. Leet, mentioned in said deed. (2) Affiant further states that she is a sister of Charlie L. Leet mentioned as grantor in a deed dated Dec. 16th, 1895 and recorded in Deed Book 18 at page 473 and shown at page 12 of this abstract, said conveyance being to A. H. Leet, and affiant says that said Charlie L. Leet was not a married man on Dec. 16th, 1895 and on Jan. 20th, 1896 at the time that he signed and executed said deed. (4) Affiant further states that she is a sister of Bobbie Leet mentioned on page 9 of this abstract and she says that the said Bobbie Leet is one and the same person as Boba Leet mentioned at page 10 of this abstract and she says that her sister the said Bobbie Leet married G G. Ramer and she says that the Bobbie Ramer and her husband G. G. Ramer [page 51] mentioned as grantors in the deed dated Oct. 10th, 1896 and recorded in Deed Book 19 at page 7, same being a conveyance to A. H. Leet, is one and the same person as Bobbie Leet and as Boba Leet. (5) Affiant further states that she is a sister of Susan E. Leet mentioned on page 9 of this abstract and that the full name of Susan E. Leet is Susan Ella Leet and that she is one and the same person as Ella Leet mentioned at page 10 of this abstract; and affiant says that Ella Leet mentioned in a deed to Henry Davis dated Dec. 17th, 1879 and recorded in Deed Book 11, page 53, as shown at page 18 of this abstract, is one and the same person as Susan E. Leet, a daughter of Robert Emmett Leet, and wife, Lucy E. Leet. (6) Affiant further states that by deed dated Feb. 15th, 1897 and recorded in Deed Book 19 at page 103 she and her husband W. C. Ballow, conveyed to A. H. Leet "our 1/7 undivided interest in and to the Southwest quarter of Sec. 8, T.1, R. 5 W., in Fulton County, Ky." and affiant says that she has since been informed that the land intended to be conveyed in that deed should have been referred to as in Range 4 West and she states that at the time she made this deed that her intentions were to convey to A. H. Leet all of the interest that she had in a quarter section of land located about 3 miles East of the City of Hickman and on the old state road and this quarter section was known as the Jeptha Leet home quarter and she further states that it is the same quarter of land on which her father, Robert Emmett Leet, and her mother and family, at one time lived, and she further states that there is a private grave yard on this tract of land and known as the Leet graveyard and in which graveyard her father is buried.
