CHRISTOPHER TRINKLE (1752-1829) by Billie (Mrs. Glynn) Bushart Christopher Trinkle was born in Montgomery County, Virginia, in 1752, died in Washington County, Indiana 1829 and married Elizabeth Hickman in 1776 at Montgomery County, Virginia. They had 10 children namely: Elizabeth Hickman, Margaret, Stephen, Katherine, Henry, John, Frederick, Adam, Jacob and Mary (Polly). He enlisted in the Revolutionary Army at Winchester, Virginia in 1777 and served 5 years as a private under Captains Triplett, Stripling, Shepherd and Col. Campbell. He was in the battles of Brandywine, Camden, Rootsford, Guildford and Eutaw Springs. He applied for a pension on June 16, 1819 and was allowed, but later suspended under the Act of May 1, 1820. Christopher left a most fascinating will in which he bequeathed to his son, Stephen, a certain sum: To son, Frederick, $5 more that to Stephen, to son Jacob, $10 more that to Frederick, etc. which would be quite complicated to settle.
