Moses Pierce (1753-ca1822) By Gail Driskell (Mrs. Jack Lee) Dunham Moses Pearce cited for his "Patriotic Service" during the Revolutionary War, was born in South Carolina, September 23, 1753. He married Jemima Robinson in 1775, probably in North Carolina. Their children were James, born December, 1775, married Elizabeth (Betsy) Gamer; Edith born July 16, 1780, married Alexander Trousdale: Susannah, born 1782, married Daniel Mitchell; Jemima Margaret, born 1786, married Pyrant McGhee; Jesse, born October 3, 1788, married first Mary (Polly) McGhee, married second Priscilla Davis; Secelia, born 1792, married James Garrison; and Moses, Jr. born July 18, 1798, married first Sarah Morris, Married second Elizabeth Farley, and married third Martha Moore. Pierce lived in Anson Co., North Carolina, during the Revolution and was among those who signed the petition for the division of Anson County. He died in White County, Ill. about 1822. The only member of the Jacob Flournoy Chapter, DAR, who is descended from Moses Pierce in Mrs. Jack Lee Dunham of Mayfield, KY.
