DEEDS: Breeden, 1846, Gallatin Co submitted by "Phyllis Hill" Gallatin County, Kentucky Deed Book M p. 146 J. C. Hopkins to Andrew Breeden This Indenture made and entered into this 3rd day of January 1846 between J. C. Hopkins of the County of Gallatin and State of KY of the one part and Andrew Breeden of the County of Gallatin and State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth. That the said J. C. Hopkins and Eliza Ann his wife for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars in hand paid, hath granted bargained and sold aliened and conveyed, and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell, alien and convey unto the said Breeden a certain tract of land situate lying and being in the aforesaid County of Gallatin on the waters of the big Lick fork of Eagle Creek being a part of the farm said Hopkins purchased of William Thompson and bounded as follows. Beginning at two Ironwoods in the east fork of Lick Creek, thence S 21 E 88 poles to a stake in Jeremiah Hayden's line thence N 69 E 51 poles to a large oak and hickory, thence N 18 W 108 poles to two beeches at the mouth of the Thrailkill branch Thence S 75 W 108 poles to the beginning, containing 31 acres be the same more or less. To have and to hold the said land and premises unto him the said Andrew Breden his heirs and assigns to their only proper use and behoof forever. And the said J. C. Hopkins and Eliza Ann his wife their heirs &c the aforesaid land and premises unto him the said Andrew Breeden his heirs &c against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons shall and will warrant and forever defend. In testimony whereof the said J. C. Hopkins and Eliza his wife hath set their hands and seals James C. Hopkins to Andrew Breeden was this day produced to me in my office and acknowledged by the said Jas. C. Hopkins to be his act and deed; and the said Eliza Ann being examined by me privily and apart from her said husband, declared that she did freely and willingly seal and deliver the said writing and wished not to retract it, and acknowledged the said writing again shown and explained to her to be her act and deed, and consented that it might be recorded.
