DEEDS: Knox, 1834, Gallatin Co submitted by "Phyllis Hill" GALLATIN COUNTY, KENTUCKY DEEDS Book H, p. 582 This Indenture made and entered into this twelfth day of October Eighteen hundred and thirty four between Isaac Knox of the County of Gallatin and State of Kentucky of the one part & Joseph Satchwell of the County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the aforesaid Isaac Knox has this day bargained and sold unto the aforesaid Joseph Satchwell all his right title and interest and by these presents doth grant bargain & sell all his right title and interest to a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the County and State above mentioned Containing one hundred and sixty acres by survey and being a part of James French’s Survey of 15913 acres for and in Consideration of the Sum of three hundred dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged the aforesaid tract of Land being the Same land purchased by Joseph Satchwell and Isaac Knox of Mordica Jackson and bounded as follow towit Beginning at a Syckamore in the west side of Steven’s Creek and corner of Thomas Porter’s land in the line of John Furnish’s land thence north 66 E 144 poles to a honey Locust whiteoak and Sugartree in William Wood’s line thence with Said line South 22 -120 ½ poles to two beech and dogwood thence South 69 W 144 poles to a Sugartree and beech in Clinton’s line thence with Said line N 22 W 114 ½ poles to the Beginning. To have & to hold the said land and premises unto him the aforesaid Joseph Satchwell to his heirs Admrs Executors and assigns to their only proper use and behoof forever. The aforesaid Isaac Knox warrants and forever defends the aforesaid land against the claims of all persons and every person or persons that Shall may or will hereafter come against the aforesaid land or any part of the Same In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand & Seal in the presence of Isaac X Knox Elizabeth X Knox I Richd P Butler Clerk of the County Court for the County of Gallatin in the State of Kentucky do certify that the foregoing deed from Isaac Knox & Elizabeth his wife to Joseph Satchwell was this day acknowledged before me in my office by the said Isaac Knox to be his act and deed.
