Wheeler rwheeler@jcc-uky.campuscw.net Jesse Eugene Jones (Gene) 1935-1998 The Angel of Death visited Warsaw, Kentucky Saturday afternoon, 18 July 1998, looking for a good soul to take. He knocked on the door of Jesse Jones and said ,”Job well done, now its time to go home.” Jesse Eugene Jones was born 28 January, 1935 in Sparta Ky, and died 18 July 1998, in Warsaw Ky. He was a native of Gallatin County. He was one of fourteen children born to James Goble & Betty Viola (Beach) Jones. He attended the schools of Gallatin County beginning in Sparta. He farmed for a time but was a nurseryman by trade. He was also an excellent landscaper. He lived in Gallatin County most of his life. On the 13th of May 1956, he was united in marriage to Grace Yvonne Wheeler, daughter of Ralph and Hazel May (Miller) Wheeler and to this union was born one daughter, Hazel Viola Jones. He was so proud of her and called her “Daddy’s Little Girl”. He worked hard in the toils of his trade and was an excellent husband, father, grandfather, and provider. There was never a job too small, or too big, for him to do. He was a kind and gentle man with an easy going voice that could soothe you when you were upset or make you laugh when you were happy. He spent forty two wonderful years of marriage with his wife Grace, who was right by his side at his passing to the other side. With a smile on his face, he went to heaven to collect his reward for a job well done. Jesse was laid to rest at the Pleasant View Baptist Church in Grant County, Ky., from which he was a member. Jesse leaves to mourn his death, his wife Grace Yvonne (Wheeler) Jones; his daughter, Hazel Viola (Jones) Stephenson; his granddaughter, Yolonda Gene Stephenson; two brothers, Charles Malcolm Jones, and Chester Ray Jones; and two sisters, Lou Florence Perkins, and Alberta Riddle. He also leaves several nieces & nephews. Jesse, You will be sadly missed by your family and friends even though we know that you are in a far greater place than we.
