Obituary: Wheeler: Gallatin Co. : 1993 Submitter: Roy Wheeler email: rwheeler@jcc-uky.campuscw.net Hazel May (Miller) Wheeler 1911-1993 Hazel May Miller Wheeler passed away 18 March, 1993 at the Norton’s Hospital in Louisville, Ky. She had been sick for several years. She was born 04 January, 1911 in Patriot, Switzerland Co., Indiana, the daughter of John Wesley and Addie May (Bailey) Miller. Hazel, in her early years had a fond love for the steamer "The Hattie Brown." She attended school in Patriot, Indiana and was a member of the Patriot Methodist Church. She saw the town of Patriot burn, destroying many of the business’s. Hazel was a wonderful mother, wife, and friend to all who knew her. She was always ready to lend a hand to help anyone who needed it. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Wheeler, two daughters, Roberta Lee Wheeler, and Dorothy May (Wheeler) King; one son, Edward Wesley Wheeler; two grandchildren, Betty Gertrude & Ralph Edward King.(brother & sister). Hazel leaves to morn her passing; two daughters, Atha Elizabeth Stewart, and Grace Yvonne Jones; one son, Roy D. Wheeler; three grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Funeral services was held 20 March, 1993 at the Carlton-Lowder Funeral Home with burial in the Owenton, Owen Co., Cemetery. Notes: Hazel was buried on her husband, Ralph’s birthday and also on her grandduaghter’s birthday. She never saw her granddaughter. (She was born in 1994).
