Walker Deed For and in consideration of the Sum of Thirty dollars per acre to me in hand paid, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, I have this day bargained and Sold, and by these presents to bargain, Sell and convey until Wade H. Walker a certain tract or boundary of land, lying and being in the county of Garrard and State of Kentucky, on the waters of Paint Lick creek, and bounded as follows, to wit, Beginning at a Sugar tree on the South Side of the road, leading from Freedom Meeting house to Holidays chapel and corner to Henry Layton, thence with Said road and down the branch S46-1/2E 18 poles, S40-1/4E 28 poles, S46-1/2E 38-1/2 poles to a white walnut on the branch corner to Said Layton, thence N80E 13 poles to a stake another corner to Layton, thence S19- 1/2E 33-1/4 poles to a Stone also corner to Said Layton on Marets line, thence with Marets line N83E 10 poles to a stake, N87-1/2E 107 poles to a young Locust, S51E 8 poles to another Small Locust, N84E 18-1/4 poles to another young Locust, N62E 4 poles to a stake on the East Side of a branch, N18W 14 poles to a Stake, N34-1/4W 9-1/2 poles to a stake at a stone fence, N37E 26 poles to a stake last corner to Maret and also corner to Mrs. Layton, thence with her lines N 23-1/2W 55 poles to a stone, N53W 14-3/4 poles to a Lynn and Sugar tree in a hollow, up the hollow S64W 22 poles to a stake, N23-3/4W 39-1/4 poles to a Stake near a honey Locust, N55W 18 poles to a stake, N86W 44-2/5 poles to a Beech corner to Said Layton, thence N7-1/4W 32 ples to a stake in a branch, thence down Said branch with the meanders thereof, N47-1/2E 26 poles, N35E 20 poles, N44-1/2E 54 poles, N89-1/2E 25 poles to a stake in Said branch corner to E. Gooch, thence with his lines N53-3/4W 126-3/4 poles to a Sugar treee, N3-1/2E 28-1/2 poles to a stake in a branch his corner and also corner to James Harris, thence up the branch with its meanders and with Harris S77- 1/2W 17 poles, S36W 2-1/2 poles to a Beech, thence up a hollow S23W 22 poles, S29-1/oW 21-1/2 poles to a stake, thence N86W 110-1/2 poles to a stake in Harris' line and also corner to John Logan, thence S18W 8 poles to a stake in a road, thence with the road and John Logan's line S27W 26 poles, S21-1/2W 19 poles, S2W18 poles, S14E 10 poles, S13-3/4W 47-3/4 poles to a Sugar tree Stump corner to Said Logan and also corner to Moberly on the West Side of the road, thence along the Side of the road S30E 48 poles, S35-1/4E 28-1/2 poles to a stake corner to Said Moberly and also H. Layton, thence with Layton and along the road S36-1/4E 40 poles, S70oE 18 poles to the Beginning, containing 381 Acres, 2 Roods & 10 Poles. To have and to hold, the land hereby convey (with the Exception of Ten Square Poles, being a little over Three poles Square around a grave Yard on the land) to him the Said Walker his heirs & assigns forever and I warrant the title. In testimony whereof I James Alexander together with Emily A. Alexander my wife have hereunto Signed our names and affixed our Seals, this 8th day of May 1857. James Alexander (Seal) Emily A. Alexander his wife to Wade H. Walker was this day produced to me at the house of Said Alexander in Said County, and acknowledged by the Said James Alexander and Emily A. Alexander his wife to be their act and deed according to law. Whereupon the Said deed together with this certificate hath been duly admitted to record in my office.
