All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ky/kyfiles.html ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Linda Deppner http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00012.html#0002870 March 19, 2014, 11:11 pm Written: July 16, 1829 Recorded: July 16, 1829 Garrard County, Kentucky Deed Book K, page 136-137 This Indenture made this 16 day of July in the year of our Lord 1829 between Joseph Hubbard of the County of Garrard and State of Kentucky of the one part and Robert Harden of the Said County and State of the other part Witnesseth that the Said Joseph Hubbard hath this day for the valuable consideration of Two hundred dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and himself fully Satisfied therewith Bargained and sold unto the Said John Hubbard and unto his heirs and assigns forever one certain Tract or parcel of Land lying and being in the county of Garrard and on the waters of Scotts fork and Containing by Survey 37½ acres bounded as as [sic] follows, to wit, Beginning at two beeches on Lapsly line thence N13W 28 po. to a Sugar tree thence N74W 94 poles to a Stake 10 feet North to a Sugar tree thence S18½W 82 po. to a white walnut near a hollow thence S41½E 10 po. to a [the words "white walnut" are crossed out] dogwood Lynn and Sugar tree William Hubbard corner thence with him N74E 124 poles to the Beginning with its appurtenances to the said John Hubbard unto his heirs and Assigns forever and I the afsd. Joseph Hubbard by these presents warrant and defend the right and title of the afsd. thirty seven acres and a half of land free from the claim or claims of myself my heirs &c assigns &c. In witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and affixed my Seal the day and year above written. Joseph Hubbard (Seal) Garrard County Sct. I James H. Letcher clerk of the county court for the county aforesaid do hereby certify that the foregoing Deed of conveyance from Joseph Hubbard to John Hubbard was produced to me in my office on the 16 day of July 1829 & acknowledged by the [said] Joseph to be his act and Deed for the purposes therein mentioned and the same together with this is truely admitted to Record. The name Robert Hardin is very legible in the deed book, but is only used once and appears to be in error.
