Lawless of the County and State afsd. of the other part Witnesseth the said Joseph and Elizabeth Hubbard for and in consideration of the sum of Fifty dollars in silver to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge, hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said P. C. Lawless his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land, containing by computation thirteen acres and three fourths acres be the same more or less, lying and being in the County afsd. and bounded as follows, to wit: Beginning at three Lyns corner to Robert Burton thence N65W 79 poles to a large ash, thence S88W 16 poles to a stake in the road thence S10E 59 poles to a hickory near the Paint Lick road, thence to the begin [sic]. To have and to hold the same tract or parcel of land with all and evry of its appertanances to the said Peter C. Lawless his heirs and assigns forever, and the said Joseph and Elizabeth Hubbard his wife for themselves their heirs Exors and Adr. do warrent and forever defend the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtances to the said Peter C. Lawless his heirs and assigns will warrent and forever defend agt. the claim of them the said Joseph and Elizabeth Hubbard their heirs and assigns, and agt. evry other person or persons claiming by or under the said Hubbards patent right or title. In Witness whereof the said Joseph Hubbard and Elizabeth his wife for themselves their Exors & adr. hath hereunto set their hands and seals the day Year first above written. Letcher Clerk of the County Court in and for the County afsd. certify that the foregoing deed of conveyance from Joseph Hubbard and Elizabeth his wife to P. C. Lawless was produced to me in my office on the 15th day of October 1833 and acknowledged by the said Hubbard to be his act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned and the said Elizabeth his wife being by me examined privaly and apart from her said husband declared that she did freely and willingly sign seal and deliver said writing and acknowledged the said writing again shown and explained to be her act and deed and wishes not to retract it and consented that the same may be recorded whereupon the same is truly admitted to record.
