JENNINGS, 1839 Garrard County, Ky., Deed Book N, pp. 376-377 (No. 1367) Grantors: James Ison, Sr. John Ison, Sr. William Ison, Sr., and Elizabeth his wife Charles Ison Grantee: Richard B. Jennings Date: 2 September 1839 Recorded: 2 April 1840 This Indenture made this 2d day of September 1839 between James Ison Senr. John Ison Senr. William Ison Senr. and Elizabeth his wife, and Charles Ison, of the County of Garrard, and State of Kentucky, of the first part, and Richard B. Jennings, of the County and state aforesaid, of the second part, Witnesseth -- That the parties of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of Two Hundred and Twelve Dollars and 50 cents, to them in hand paid, the receipt they do hereby acknowledge, have this day bargained and sold, and by these presents, do grant, bargain and sell, unto the second party a Certain tract or parcel of land, lying and being in the County and State aforenamed, and on the Waters of Dicks River, Containing by estimation Fifty acres more or less, and bounded as follows to wit, Beginning at a poplar, corner to Benjamin Wilds; thence down a hollow to a marked hickory at the head of a spring; thence with the drain to the rocky fork of Dicks River; thence down the Rocky fork, to a white ash and lynn at the mouth of the first drain; thence up said drain to a rock and white oak stump; thence up a hollow to a black walnut, sasafras and rock; thence with a fence and line, between Charles N Ison, and the aforenamed tract of land to a white Oak; thence on said line, till it intersects John Ison's Senr. line, to a stone, and Corner to the above named lands; thence with his line to the Beginning; To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land, with its appurtenances, unto Richard B. Jennings, the first party, his heirs and assigns forever, to their only proper use and behoof, and the parties of the first part, for themselves, their heirs etc. doth warrant and forever defend the title to the above named land, unto the 2d party, his heirs and assigns forever. This - appeared Elizabeth Ison, whose is named in the body of the within deed, before J M. Myers and W.H. Campbell, two Justices of the peace, in and for Garrard County, and freely, and willingly, when examined by us, relinquished her right of Dower, as the law directs to the premises hereby conveyed.
