OBIT: Eugene Leavell, 2003, Fayette & Garrard Co. From the Danville Advocate Messenger, 18 April 2003 Eugene Leavell, 78, of Martin Luther King Drive, Lancaster, died Tuesday at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Lexington. Born May 14, 1924, in Garrard County, he was the son of the late Taylor and Carrie Beasley Leavell. He was a member of St. Paul Predestinarian Baptist Church in Lancaster. He was a truck driver and an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include two brothers, Taylor Leavell Jr. and Dewey Leavell, both of Lancaster; and a sister, Nellie Quisenberry of Lancaster. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul Predestinarian Baptist Church by Barry Bowman. Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Pallbearers are Tyrone and Cedric Leavell, Gary McPherson, Gary Deon McPherson, and Steven and Wayne Quisenberry. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the church.
